The Power of Nature-Based Play | Salt Creek Primary School
The natural playground at Salt Creek Primary School extends the learning environment to the outdoors. The finished space includes logs, rocks, a climbing wall, hills, a wooden stage and stone stepped seating for reader’s theater. Teachers now use the area for science activities and other curriculum connections. Its open-ended design also encourages imagination, creative play and social-emotional development while giving students a place for shorter breaks and opportunities to regulate and reset.
