Samm James Recognized by INTERIOR DESIGN Magazine's 30/30 Program

Samm James, an interior designer in FGMA’s St. Louis office, has been recognized by INTERIOR DESIGN Magazine’s 30/30 program as one of the region’s top designers under the age of 30.
This recognition highlights emerging professionals who are helping shape the future of the design industry through leadership, collaboration and a commitment to innovation. According to INTERIOR DESIGN Magazine, the 30/30 program connects up-and-coming designers with opportunities to collaborate, learn and build relationships across the country.
Designing Spaces Around People
For Samm, the recognition reflects a deeper purpose behind her work.
“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized among top designers in the region, but recognition isn’t what motivates me. People do,” Samm said. “My goal as an interior designer is to prioritize the health, safety and welfare of every occupant and create spaces where individuals can truly thrive.”
Her approach reflects FGMA’s commitment to designing spaces that strengthen communities and support the people who use them every day.
Growing Through Experience
Samm credits each project and experience with helping shape her perspective as a designer.
“While I’m still early in my career, I’m grateful for each lesson learned—each one making the next project better—and I’m excited for what’s ahead,” she said.
Samm’s recognition demonstrates the impact designers can have when they lead with curiosity and a focus on human-centered outcomes.

Supporting Emerging Design Leaders
The St. Louis 30/30 event brought together designers from firms across the region to connect and explore new ideas shaping the future of the profession. FGMA was among the participating firms recognized during the event.
Programs like 30/30 help foster the next generation of design leaders while creating opportunities for collaboration and continued professional growth across the industry.
