As FGMA’s President, Tim leads with a focus on people, culture and inspiring teams to exceed their own expectations. “What motivates me most is empowering our people, coaching them along the way, and watching them do things they didn’t even think were possible. That’s where I find joy and fulfillment.“
Tim lives by the philosophy, “It’s not about me; it’s about the team and the firm.” His leadership reflects that belief every day, encouraging a supportive, empowering culture that builds strong teams with a passion to bring our clients’ visions to life. He approaches problem-solving as a collaborative process built on listening and trust. Tim encourages teams to take ownership, make decisions and view challenges as opportunities for growth and innovation, strengthening motivation and building confidence across the firm.
For Tim, success is measured by the impact our projects have on the communities we serve and the growth and accomplishments of the people who make them possible.
Though his career began with a strong focus on design, Tim’s path evolved as he took on more leadership responsibility within FGMA. Tim accelerated growth for the firm’s Southern Illinois region and eventually opened a new office in St. Louis, establishing FGMA as a design leader for the metro area and increasing visibility and community support through design across the state of Missouri. Initially, he feared that his leadership role might pull him away from his creative roots, but he discovered a new kind of creativity in helping shape the firm itself.
Tim’s passion for architecture was sparked early when a relative, an architect, walked him through a small Southern Illinois town, pointing out the towering Catholic church that dominated the skyline. That moment ignited his interest in architecture and inspired his goal to create environments that evoke that same sense of wonder.
Outside of work, Tim and his wife, Ruth, are relishing their roles as grandparents to their daughter Sydney’s little girl, Sayge. He also enjoys outdoor adventures with his son Aiden, sharing his love for nature and conservation. An avid outdoorsman, Tim has successfully summited 46 of Colorado’s 53 ”fourteeners” (mountain peaks over 14,000 feet), finding inspiration and balance in the great outdoors.
