Rebecca’s passion is creating vibrant learning environments, and her experience encompasses diverse facilities from rural pre-schools to urban high school campuses and unique specialty schools.
Rebecca’s design approach mirrors key shifts in education that emphasize critical thinking, creativity and collaboration as well as physical, social and emotional well-being. She creates flexible spaces that support active learning and are infused with biophilic elements. “Designing for experiences is the key to successful design. I love building communities in schools and connecting the dots of relationships within those spaces,” she says.
Rebecca is a thought leader in the world of PK-12 school design and seeks out opportunities to engage with peers, both to share her knowledge and continuously learn about new approaches and innovations from others. In 2024, she was named a Learning Environments Fellow by her colleagues at the Association for Learning Environments.
A lifelong Texan, on weekends, Rebecca and her husband can often be found on a tandem bike, checking out new and favorite restaurants, or engaging in community events in and around her beloved city of Austin and the surrounding Hill Country.
