Paul views every project as an opportunity to embody the aspirations and needs of the community it serves. He believes that successful design begins with a collaborative planning process that engages local stakeholders, ensuring that the resulting spaces foster a sense of pride and ownership among the end users. For Paul, “the most fulfilling aspect of each day is knowing that I am contributing to the design and sustainability of the built environment, knowing these spaces provide a better work/life experience for the inhabitants.”
Throughout his career, Paul has cultivated a commitment to equitable design, recognizing that public spaces should invite participation from individuals of all backgrounds and abilities. By listening intently to client visions and integrating community feedback, his designs not only meet operational requirements but also celebrate and empower the communities they serve. In Paul’s view, the intersection of community input and innovative design is essential for creating spaces that tell the unique story of each locality.
Paul’s design inspiration comes from the individual relationship each user has with a building, starting with the approach and sense of arrival and continuing inside with tactile and visual experiences that inspire. Paul is truly a creator at heart with hobbies that all revolve around craft and design: restoring/repurposing furniture, home remodeling and sketching buildings and people.
