Matthew Loyet
Principal
Matthew’s career has spanned a wide range of project types including PK–12 schools, municipal facilities, health and safety projects, sports and recreation facilities, churches, healthcare and historic preservation.
As President of Loyet Architects, founded in Highland, Illinois in 1968, Loyet has managed projects that deliver $4–5 million in construction annually. Under his leadership, the firm developed a strong reputation for balancing limited budgets with innovative design — always with an eye toward safety, sustainability, and creating environments that enrich community life. His work includes the Highland Public Safety Building and numerous PK–12 projects that ensure safe, code-compliant environments for students. He has also contributed to historic preservation efforts in Macoupin County, overseeing complex projects that required meticulous coordination of structural, mechanical, and architectural elements.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Loyet is deeply rooted in his community. He lives in Highland with his wife of 34 years; together they have four children and three grandchildren. In his free time, he enjoys family time, cycling, hiking and golf.
