As the Director of FGMA’s Higher Ed practice, Jan brings a deep-rooted passion for educational design and a tireless dedication to creating spaces that go beyond function: They foster connection, inclusivity and success for every user. With extensive experience in higher ed design, she believes that every project should empower the people who use the space.

As the project principal, Jan partners closely with clients, guiding them through every stage of the process with care and attention. She takes pride in leading diverse teams, bringing together the right expertise to support each project’s unique goals. Known for her approachable and collaborative style, Jan builds strong relationships with clients and team members alike, ensuring everyone feels heard and valued. Clients trust her to keep projects on track while maintaining their vision.

Jan approaches every project with empathy, focusing intently on the client’s vision while digging deep to understand the “why” behind the project and the “who” it will serve. Her advocacy for neurodiverse students is a cornerstone of her design philosophy.
