Jaime is an innovative designer whose numerous award-winning projects reflect his problem-solving and team management skills. As Managing Director of FGMA’s Texas region, Jaime has played a pivotal role in driving the firm’s growing Municipal and Higher Education practices in North and Central Texas. He believes that “successful design solutions are born from thoughtful dialogue with communities.”
Jaime gives back to the architectural community in many ways. As Austin Director of the Texas Society of Architects (TxA), he was the liaison between the Austin chapter of AIA and the TxA Board. He helped Austin AIA found its Latinos in Architecture committee, which resulted in (among other things) a scholarship fund for Latino high school students to attend UT Austin’s Architecture Summer Academy. Jaime contributes his talents to the larger community as well, having served organizations such as Mobile Loaves and Fishes, United Way and Habitat for Humanity. He has served as strategic advisor for “Positive Footprint,” a local youth-action service organization created to provide critical support to nonprofits fighting against hunger, homelessness and educational disparities.
While growing up in El Salvador, a family friend noticed Jaime's interest in sketching and painting and suggested architecture as a career path. His parents and other teachers and mentors supported his continued development, and he moved to the U.S. to pursue Architectural bachelor's and master's degrees. Happily married for more than three decades, Jaime is a proud father of two.
