Brian Wright
Executive Vice President, Director of Municipal and Recreation
Brian has spent his entire career specializing in the design of municipal and recreation spaces. He has particular expertise in the programming and planning of public safety facilities, including law enforcement, emergency communications, and fire service buildings.
“My passion is helping build community through unique responsive design.” Brian’s process begins with listening to the clients’ goals and discovering what is unique about their needs and finding a solution for their project. He enjoys seeing the final design solution transform an organization's culture, creating a new level of efficiency and preparing them for the future. Brian also brings his forward-thinking approach to firm leadership, where he enjoys starting up new offices, growing FGMA's client community and recruiting the next generation of design leaders to the team. He has helped successfully launch three FGMA offices and serves on many internal committees to implement firmwide strategy.
While at university, Brian discovered a love for architectural sketching, and he helps lead the Chicago chapter of Urban Sketchers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to on-location sketching. He strongly believes in nurturing visual communication and hand/eye coordination through drawing, and he can be found sketching wherever he goes.
