Allison Stoos
Principal, Director of Faith-Based Practice
As FGMA’s Faith-Based practice leader, Allison specializes in community-based architectural design, helping stakeholders achieve their mission through beautiful and innovative design solutions. She uses her strong relational skills to connect with and understand a community, asking good questions to prompt thoughtfulness toward a design tailored to them. Allison loves to see organizations enliven their mission through the spaces created for them and is especially proud when a congregation feels heard and represented by the design concept.
As a student, designing faith-based facilities was not on Allison’s radar. Growth in her career showed her the possibility of combining her personal faith and passion for public-interest architecture in working with churches and related facilities. Allison’s favorite moments are attending a worship service at her completed project, singing alongside a congregation who has seen their dream realized and feeling the gratitude and excitement.
Allison now leads the faith-based practice teams across FGMA’s offices, bringing consistency to our servant-leader design approach while also supporting customized solutions tailored for each client’s unique needs and mission. She is responsible for tracking industry trends and fostering shared expertise across regions.
Away from work, Allison enjoys an active lifestyle that includes as much time outdoors as weather will permit. Her favorite activities include paddle boarding, hiking, taking her three kids to the playground and enjoying one of Austin’s many patios. She is also an active deacon of her church and was honored to serve as Project Manager on several projects with them.
