Skokie Police Department
Client: Skokie Police Department
Project Type: Renovation
Practice Area(s): Public Safety
Specialty: Architecture + Interior Design, High-Performance Design, Adaptive Reuse + Preservation
Designed to be welcoming, secure and eco-friendly, Skokie’s Police Department supports state-of-art law enforcement with ample space for training, hard/soft interview rooms, evidence processing, property collection and high-density records storage.
Sustainable Design
Over 85% of the project demolition and construction waste was recycled into the new building. Landscaped berms provide privacy and are irrigated with rainwater collected in an interior courtyard cistern. Two interior courtyards offer additional areas for staff and the public to gather. The courtyards are surrounded by glass interior corridors that enhance the open-plan design within and maximize the flow of natural lighting deep into the building.
