FGM Architects (FGMA) is pleased to announce its acquisition of Spring Architects, Inc., an Austin-based firm recognized for its exceptional multifamily design portfolio. The acquisition — effective June 30 — enhances FGMA’s capabilities and significantly expands its footprint in the Texas region.
Spring Architects brings a deep bench of multifamily experience that complements FGMA’s existing work and strategic vision for growth in housing and mixed-use development. Spring's leadership team, Andrea Freiburger and Jon Salinas, will join FGMA as Principals and will play a vital role in shaping the future of the multifamily practice while also contributing to broader project initiatives firmwide.
"This acquisition is a natural evolution of our commitment to design excellence and client service," said John Dzarnowski, CEO of FGMA. "Spring’s design sensibility and strong track record in multifamily work will immediately elevate our practice —especially in Texas, where we continue to invest in top-tier talent and community-centered projects."
Spring Architects’ portfolio spans a wide range of multifamily project types — from accessible housing and luxury residential to mixed-use developments — each reflecting a high level of design integrity and client responsiveness. Co-Founder Andrea Freiburger, AIA, brings over two decades of experience in multifamily architecture, with a strong emphasis on placemaking, community engagement and sustainable design strategies. Her leadership has helped guide complex residential projects from concept through completion, earning regional recognition for innovation and livability. Jon Salinas, AIA, built a career spanning both residential and educational markets. In addition to his multifamily design expertise, Jon brings deep knowledge in PK-12 school planning and project management, offering valuable cross-sector insight as FGMA continues to grow its education practice in Texas.

"This partnership strengthens both of our firms," said Jaime Palomo, Managing Director for FGMA’s Texas region. "We’re expanding our expertise and bandwidth, diversifying our project types, and creating more opportunities for our teams to collaborate and grow."
"We’re thrilled to join FGMA," said Andrea Freiburger, Co-Founder of Spring Architects. "Our shared values—design excellence, client relationships, and community impact—make this a seamless and exciting step forward."
The combined firm is well-positioned to deliver thoughtful, high-quality design across markets, with reinforced leadership and staffing depth in both Austin and beyond.
