Channahon FPD Station No. 2: Honor Award in "Institutional - Civic, Municipal" Category

In 2024, the Channahon Fire Protection District opened Station No. 2, replacing a volunteer-era facility in a new location that significantly improves emergency response times in this growing, but still largely rural area. Station No. 2 is award-worthy for its efficient, highly functional design that simultaneously strengthens public safety, honors this region’s agricultural heritage and supports the well-being of emergency personnel.

Designed with durability and adaptability in mind, Station No. 2 is not just a building for today’s needs: it is a future-proofed facility that will serve, protect and support its community for decades.

Downers Grove Civic Center: People's Choice Award

The Downers Grove Civic Center realizes this community’s bold vision for a vibrant shared facility that houses its Village Hall, Police Department and School District 58 administration. Instantly recognizable as a center of local government, the Center’s design achieves three critical goals: 1) celebrating community heritage and pride; 2) providing a warm, welcoming environment that enhances productivity; and 3) demonstrating the community’s commitment to sustainability.
