  • CORPORATE EXPERTISE | FGM Architects

CORPORATE EXPERTISE Overview The corporate workplace is an ever-changing landscape of spaces that defines how and where we work. Today’s workplace is far more than an office, cubicle, conference room or break room. Today’s workforce requires far more. To be competitive in today’s business culture, workspace needs to project the brand image of the company to the extent that the spaces within the corporate office are living, breathing extensions of the brand. Our expertise goes for beyond the architecture. As we design the workspace of today and the future we develop a Workplace Strategy. This strategy allows corporations to support their people and manage their assets by understanding real estate, facilities, workplace, information solutions, and business strategies with the objective of improving performance. Corporations must consider cultural integration, the global nature of business, technological innovation, and workforce mobility. All make it necessary for organizations to leverage change to maintain viability. Change Management integrates the organizations business goals, strategies and metrics and its evolving brand and culture to ensure a successful outcome. Change management brings together each of these pieces to deliver knowledge sharing, teaming, and a culture of positive change. Inclusive in our approach is sustainable design and high performance buildings. We are creating environments that place a priority of health and well-being on the occupants. Transparency and material health are at the forefront of this movement. We are advocates for industry benchmarks set forth in LEED V4, Living Building Challenge and WELL Building. Identifying vulnerabilities to natural and manmade stressors in buildings and to create design responses to help achieve stability and adaptability is Resilient Design. We are working to help create buildings and spaces that are more flexible, responsive and adaptive to a catastrophic and chronic event. We partner with our clients, as our many long-term clients can attest. We also excel at bringing together the experts a project may require—engineers, specialty consultants, construction managers, contractors and other architects—to leverage a broad knowledge base of best practices, trends, codes and approaches to long-term maintenance and building operational needs. Through this collaborative process, we design environments that exceed our clients’ expectations and goals, while remaining sensitive to your limitations. At FGM Architects, we value each partner’s role and engage them to their highest and best use.

  • FEDERAL SAFETY EXPERTISE | FGM Architects

FEDERAL EXPERTISE Overview In an era of challenging federal budgets, FGMA provides creativity and cost-efficient design to our federal clients with the goal of creating facilities with optimal life-cycle and operational costs. Throughout the firm's history we have completed hundreds of projects for Department of Defense (DoD) agencies including USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, National Guard and Reserves and DoDEA with contract vehicles that have included A/E contracts, IDIQs, MATOCs, SATOCs and MACCs. Projects have included housing, training, administration, secure rooms (SCIFs), classrooms, public safety, hospitality, visitors centers, reserve centers, museums, historic buildings and school facilities. We are able to meet the mission needs of federal projects—large and small, new or renovation. We are also highly proficient in the design of energy efficient buildings. Our federal building projects have been designed to meet the energy efficiency standards set for each project including LEED. FGMA e xcels at meeting the diverse requirements and evolving standards set forth by the many different agencies that comprise our federal design practice. People Our design approach is centered on commitment, understanding and collaboration that results in satisfied clients, loyal contractor relationships, and trusted sub-consultants. When asked what FGMA's strengths are, a repeat federal client replied, “FGMA has complete command and competence of multi-discipline design/design coordination throughout the project. They are excellent team players.” Partners FGMA strives to involve as many stakeholders and users of the facility as desired to create facilities that meet mission needs while providing innovative design solutions. As a repeat federal client recently observed, “From the very start, the FGMA design team saw the soldiers and agency staff as a part of the project family team.” We view these relationships with agencies and installations as a critical component of our success. We are actively involved with the contractor when involved with the design-build delivery method from the onset of the project through its closeout. We also frequently utilize our long-standing partnerships with small and disadvantaged businesses of all types, and we welcome the opportunity to serve as a mentor to small businesses that seek to grow their federal design and/or construction expertise.
