Carol Stolt and Dean Manasses, both of FGM Architects, participated in the recent Chicago Thrives! Resilience Symposium sponsored by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Chicago Chapter of the AIA. Resilient design is an emerging design challenge of our age that forces architects to re-imagine our built environment in a way that is adaptable to sudden changes either that occur to chronic stresses or that occur naturally. This symposium gave our architects the opportunity to meet with others and exchange ideas about resilient design through interactive workshops, panels and lectures.
