After Years of Planning, Construction Begins for Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway, Texas

On July 16, 2020, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at Emmaus Catholic Parish in Lakeway on the church’s campus. After a parish-wide survey was conducted in 2014, the results concluded that there was a need for expansion. The parish has grown tremendously from 950 families (2004) to more than 2,500 families currently.

The new three-story, 9,000 sf Pastoral Center includes parish offices and classrooms. Work has begun at the site with demolition well underway. Construction is scheduled to be complete early 2021.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Fr. David Leibham, Pastor; many of the parish Building Committee members; Jerry Williams and Rex Hecht, Embree Construction Company; Kennedy Colombo, AIA and Joe Chronister, AIA of JGFGM Architects. Joe is also a parishioner of the parish.
