Members of the Fenwick Friars community participated in a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, April 22 to celebrate the beginning of construction on their new synthetic turf field to be installed at the Dominican Priory in River Forest.
FGM Architects has enjoyed a continuous relationship with Fenwick High School since 2000. This most recent assignment involves the upgrade of an existing natural grass field and it’s inadequate drainage system. The infilled synthetic turf field will feature an underground stormwater detention system as well as ornamental fencing, landscaping, retaining wall replacement and a new scoreboard.
With construction scheduled for this summer, the field is expected to be complete in time for the Fall 2017 school year to accommodate the high school’s soccer, lacrosse and football sports teams.
